Welcome to StudyLaw AI (also referred to as "Lex," "we," "us," or "our"), an educational AI study tool operated by Ellevyn LLC. By creating an account, signing in, or otherwise using the Service, you ("you" or "User") agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering a binding contract to use StudyLaw AI. By using the Service you represent that you meet these requirements.
StudyLaw AI is an AI-powered educational study aid designed for law students. It generates flashcards, case briefs, outlines, and other study materials from content you upload or provide. StudyLaw AI relies on third-party large-language-model providers to produce its outputs.
You may register using an email address and password, or through supported single sign-on providers (Google, Microsoft). You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.
You agree not to:
You retain all rights to content you upload ("User Content"). By submitting User Content to the Service, you grant Ellevyn LLC a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide license to process, transmit, store, and display that content solely to operate and provide the Service to you. We do not use your User Content to train AI models.
Outputs generated by StudyLaw AI ("Generated Output") are provided "as-is." Because large language models can produce inaccurate, outdated, or fabricated information, you accept full responsibility for independently verifying any Generated Output before using or relying on it. Generated Output does not constitute legal advice, and no attorney-client relationship is created by your use of the Service.
The Service — including its name, logo, interface, code, design, and the trademarks "StudyLaw AI" and "Lex" — is owned by Ellevyn LLC and protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or create derivative works from any part of the Service without our prior written consent.
The Service relies on third-party providers for AI generation, speech processing, authentication, and hosting. Your use of the Service is also subject to those providers' terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the acts or omissions of third-party providers. A current list of specific sub-processors is available on request at support@law-ego.com.
StudyLaw AI may be offered free of charge, on a trial basis, or as a paid subscription. Pricing, if any, will be disclosed at the point of purchase. We reserve the right to change pricing on notice.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT GENERATED OUTPUT WILL BE ACCURATE.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ELLEVYN LLC AND ITS OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AFFILIATES WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR ACADEMIC STANDING, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (USD $100) OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Ellevyn LLC from and against any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to your User Content, your use of the Service, or your breach of these Terms.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause or notice. You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us. Sections 5-12, 14, and 15 survive termination.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The exclusive venue for any dispute is the state and federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there.
